Backup to a NAS device through FTP may fail

This article applies to:

Symptoms

  1. Using Acronis True Image you are trying to back up to a NAS device through FTP;
  2. The operation fails with an error message similar to one of the following:

Poor media quality

No target was specified or the target is invalid

Cause

Not identified.

Solution

As a workaround, try one of the following:

  • Back up directly to a NAS device, without using FTP;
  • Back up to a NAS device through virtual private network (VPN).
