How to upgrade from Acronis True Image Echo Server for Windows/Linux to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Server for Windows/Linux

This section describes how to upgrade the following editions of Acronis True Image Echo:

• Acronis True Image Echo Server for Windows to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Server for Windows 
• Acronis True Image Echo Server for Linux to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Server for Linux.

Introduction

Before proceeding with the upgrade, make sure that:

• You have a license key for the corresponding Acronis True Image Echo edition;
• You have an upgrade license key for the corresponding Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 edition.

(!) When upgrading from Acronis True Image Echo, the language version should match the language of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10. If the languages do not match, Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 installation will fail. In this case, uninstall Acronis True Image Echo before installing Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.

Solution

Upgrading components

1. Run the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 setup file;
2. Click Install Acronis Backup & Recovery 10;
3. Specify the upgrade license key and the license key for the currently installed product;
4. Confirm the deletion of the currently installed product components;
5. Follow the onscreen instructions.

As a result, Acronis True Image Echo components will be replaced with the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 components.

Upgrading tasks

After you have upgraded the product components, you might want to import the old backup tasks and validation tasks to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10. If you do not import them, these tasks will no longer run. You can import the tasks later at any time.

(!) The tasks that back up data to Acronis Backup Server or validate archives stored on it will not be imported to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.

To upgrade the old tasks, use Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Upgrade Tool.
