Xen-Based virtual machines (including Virtual Iron) do not boot from Acronis Bootable Media

This article applies to:

• All Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Editions Build 11133 or lower
• All Acronis True Image Echo Editions

Symptoms

When booting from Acronis Bootable Media of Acronis True Image Echo or Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Build 11133 or lower, the machine hangs on the Starting Acronis Loader... message.

(!) The issue does not occur with Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Build 11345 or higher.

Cause

Acronis Loader of Acronis True Image Echo or Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Build 11133 or lower is incompatible with Xen-based virtual machines (e.g. Virtual Iron).

Solution

The has been fixed in Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 starting from Build 11345. Please download the latest build and recreate Acronis Bootable Media, or download Acronis Bootable Media. See:
