Symptoms

  1. You disable Acronis True Image Home integration into Windows 7 Control Panel by deselecting Help -> Integrate True Image into Windows -> Acronis console in Windows Control Panel:

  2. However, the integration still shows in Control Panel -> System and Security -> Backup and Restore:

Cause

This issue affects only some Windows 7 systems.

Solution

Download and unzip the file with the fix. Run the unzipped file and agree to add changes to the registry. This will force the removal of Acronis integration from the system and enable Windows backup.
