Acronis True Image launches the TimounterMonitor.exe, TrueImageMonitor.exe and schedhlp.exe processes for every user who logs on the machine where the product is installed

Introduction

Acronis product launches the TimounterMonitor.exe, TrueImageMonitor.exe and schedhlp.exe processes for every user who logs on the machine where the product is installed. This may slow down the machine (e.g. if the machine is used as Windows Terminal Server). For terminal servers, it is normal that an instance of each process is launched for each user connected to Terminal Server.

The processes are:

  • TimounterMonitor.exe;
  • TrueImageMonitor.exe;
  • schedhlp.exe.

Solution

Make the processes launch only for the current user:

Acronis True Image products

Windows 32 bit

  1. Run regedit to open Windows Registry Editor;

  2. Delete the TimounterMonitor.exe, TrueImageMonitor.exe and schedhlp.exe registry values from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run;

  3. Import the deleted values to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run by doing the following:

Windows 64 bit

  1. Run regedit to open Windows Registry Editor;

  2. Delete the TimounterMonitor.exe, TrueImageMonitor.exe and schedhlp.exe registry values from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run;

  3. Import the deleted values to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run by doing the following:

Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 and Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 products

Windows 32 bit

  1. Run regedit to open Windows Registry Editor;
  2. Delete the AcronisTimounterMonitor, BackupAndRecoveryMonitor.exe and Acronis Scheduler2 Service registry values from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Windows 64 bit

  1. Run regedit to open Windows Registry Editor;
  2. Delete Acronis Scheduler2 Service registry value from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run;
  3. Delete the AcronisTimounterMonitor, BackupAndRecoveryMonitor.exe registry values from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
