24694: Acronis Backup & Recovery 11: Acronis Startup Recovery Manager Does Not Work after the Restore of System Partition

This article applies to:

  • Acronis Backup & Recovery 11

Symptoms

  1. You activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager;
  2. You back up the system with the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager activated;
  3. You restore the system partition;
  4. After the restore, Acronis Startup Recovery Manager does not work. There is no Acronis Startup Recovery Manager prompt on the system boot. However in the product user interface it shows as activated;
  5. An attempt to deactivate it (e.g. to activate again) fails with the following error:

    Command 'Deactivating ASRM' has failed
    Failed to execute the command. This command deactivates Acronis Startup Recovery Manager

Cause

This is a known issue.

Solution

Unfortunately, there is no workaround. Acronis Development Team is working on fixing the issue.
