Canceling a task will stop it only after other running tasks are completed

This article applies to:

• Acronis vmProtect 6

Symptoms

1. You run a task (e.g. restore) on one virtual machine;
2. You run a second task (e.g. restore) on a second virtual machine;
3. You cancel the second task;
4. The second task goes into the Stopping... state and is only stopped when the first task completes.

Cause

This is a known issue. The tasks are operated one by one in a queue.

Solution

(!) This has been fixed and the fix is available in Acronis vmProtect 7 Build 5144 or higher. See Upgrading to Acronis vmProtect 7.

It is safe to ignore the issue. The second task will be stopped only when the first one completes.
