Synchronization of a folder between different machines with different Acronis accounts

Introduction
This article describes how to sync a folder between two or more computers with different Acronis accounts - basically, different users.

Solution
Starting a sync:
Before you start with the sync, please see Acronis True Image Home 2012: Synchronization Requirements .
Start the product and click Synchronization :
Log in to your Acronis online account:
This is the regular Acronis account at the Acronis website, which you probably already have. See also Registration at Acronis Website .
Click New sync :
Select a folder to sync and click Next :
(!) An empty folder cannot be selected.
Select Other computers and online storage :
If you want to have file versions stored online and have Acronis Online Backup activated, you check the box here:
Click Create sync :
Sharing a sync
On the Synchronization page click the settings icon:
Select Invite collaborators :
Type in the E-mail address(es) of the user you want to sync with and hit Send :
Joining a sync
Once a person you sync with has started a sync, you will receive an E-mail notification:
Click Accept Invitation in the E-mail notification. This will take you to the Acronis website, where you will need to log in and accept the invitation.
After you do this, the sync folder will show up in the product on the Synchronization page:
Click Join this sync :
Select a folder where you would like to keep the sync data:
The sync will then be enabled.
