Purpose and general description of activation

This article applies to:

  • Acronis True Image Home 2012

Description

Acronis True Image Home 2012 needs to be activated on the machine where it is installed. This feature was implemented in order to ensure the authorized use of the product and reduce the usage of illegal product copies.

Activation statuses:

Status Description
Activated Software is fully functional with no reminders.
Full version: X days left for activation

This status is assigned in the following cases:

  • After installation if the product was not activated
  • If the machine hardware changes
  • If the license has been moved to another computer

Software is fully functional until expiration date.
Deactivated

This status is assigned if software was not activated during the activation period. All functions except recovery are disabled.

(!) Recovery is only possible from Acronis Bootable Rescue media.
