Changes cannot be written to a read-only network share

This article applies to:

• Acronis Backup & Recovery 11

Symptoms

1. You have a backup archive on a read-only network share;
2. An attempt to mount the archive in read-write mode fails with the following error message:

   The device is not ready

   

Cause

There is no write access to a read-only network share.

Solution

Mount the archive in read-only mode or grant the network share write access.
