Symptoms

1. You have a backup on CD/DVD discs or on tape;
2. When setting up a restore operation from CD/DVD or tape, you cannot resize the image (e.g. to cover all unallocated space):

   

Cause

This is a known limitation.

A restore operation from CD/DVD or tape with the image resize will always be slow (since these devices do not allow random data access, and in order to restore the image with resize it will be necessary to ensure a lot of non-sequential data read requests to the backup location which can make the entire procedure infinitely slow - e.g. due to multiple tape rewindings).

Solution

In future builds of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 the resize operation for such cases may be implemented - but the exact implementation details and ETA are not known at the moment.
