1874: Acronis Bootable Media Fails to Load with "Kernel panic"

Acronis Bootable Media is corrupt. Recreate it to fix the issue

This article applies to:

  • All Acronis products

Symptoms

  1. You attempt to boot your machine from Acronis Bootable Media;
  2. Acronis Bootable Media fails to load with one of the following error messages:

    Unable to load initial ramdisk

    Kernel panic

    VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown block

Cause

The Kernel panic error message means that the created Acronis Bootable Media is corrupt.

Solution

Recreate Acronis Bootable Media.

There are two ways to do this:

If the issue persists, you can try a different CD/DVD disc or a different disc burner.
