1. To start the recovery, locate the necessary backup in the My backups list and press Explore and recover or Explore all versions:

   

2. You can also initiate the recovery directly from Windows without starting Acronis True Image Home 2011: locate the backup, right-click on it and select Archive -> Recover:

   

3. When the backup opens, select the Files and Folders tab:

   

4. In the backup contents, select the files and folders that you want to restore.

   If you have several backups from different dates/time, and you want to recover one of the earlier versions, you can select the necessary date in Time Explorer:

   

   (!) To be able to view hidden files and folders in Time Explorer, set Windows folder options to view these: see Acronis True Image Home: Viewing Hidden Files or Folders in Time Explorer.

5. Having selected the necessary data, press Recover:

   

6. In the File Recovery window select whether you want to recover the selected data to the original location or to the new location:

   

   (!) If you select New location, it is recommended to leave Recover absolute path option disabled. If you enable it, there will be the entire folder tree hierarchy recreated upon the recovery. E.g. if there is a file C:\Images\Picture.jpg present in the backup, and you select to restore it to new location, to D:\ in particular and enable Recover absolute path option, as a result you will get: D:\Drive(C)\Images\Picture.jpg. If the option is left disabled, there will be simply D:\Picture.jpg.

7. Press Recover now:

   

1. In Windows Explorer, locate the backup from which you want to restore data, right-click on it and select Open:

   

2. If the backup contains several slices from different dates, select the necessary slice:

   

3. Select the necessary partition:

   

4. You will see the disk contents in the Windows Explorer window. You can copy and paste or drag-and-drop files and folders from the backup to your system:

   

(!) It is impossible to add data to the backup while exploring it. If you want to add data to the backup or modify some data in it, mount the disk backup instead. See Acronis True Image Home 2011: Mounting Partition Backups.
