After installation of Acronis True Image Home 2009 USB card reader drives disappear both from My Computer and Disk Management

• Acronis True Image Home 2009

Symptoms

1. You install Acronis True Image Home 2009 on a system with USB card reader;
2. After the installation USB card reader shows up neither in My Computer nor in Disk Management;
3. Trying to manually assign a drive letter to the USB card reader errors out with Information in disk management is outdated.

Cause

Acronis True Image Home 2009 conflicts with USB card reader drivers.

Download and install the latest build of Acronis True Image Home 2009. See Downloading the Latest Build of Acronis Software.
