To validate an existing backup in Windows:

• Locate the necessary backup in My backups list and press Operations -> Validate backup:

• Right-click on the backup in Windows and select Archive -> Validate:

  

1. Create a new backup, or, for an existing backup select Operations -> Edit backup settings;
2. Press Disk backup options, File backup options or E-mail backup options:
3. Go to Validation and check the option Validate backup when it is created:

   

4. By default, regular validation in Acronis True Image Home 2011 is enabled with the following settings:
   • Frequency: Once a month;
   • Day: the date when backup was created;
   • Time: the moment of backup start plus 15 minutes.

   To change regular validation schedule, click the current settings in Regular validation field (by default this field is Once a month):

   

5. You can set up regular validation daily, weekly or monthly. Specify the necessary days and time for validation.

   In the example below validation will be run each Friday at 7.00 PM:

   

6. Press OK to close validation schedule and press OK to close backup options.

If you do not want to schedule regular validation, press Do not schedule:

1. Boot the computer using Acronis Bootable Media;
2. Go to Recovery tab and find the backup that you want to validate:

   

   If the necessary backup is not in the list, press Browse for backup, locate the necessary backup file and press Ok to add backup to the list.

3. Right-click on the backup that you want to validate and click Validate archive:
