Setting up Quotas and Time Limits for Backup Locations, Administrator and User Profiles

Description

Individual quotas and time limits determine every Administrator or User Profile's quota on Acronis Backup Server. These include:

1. Maximum backup location size in MB, GB or TB
2. Maximum number of backups in a location
3. Maximum number of incremental backups for each full backup
4. Maximum storage period in days

Quotas and time limits can also be set for separate Backup Locations. These include:

• Maximum backup location size in MB, GB or TB
• Maximum storage period in days

(!) If the quotas are set for an Administrator or User Profile and for their Backup Locations at the same time, then the quotas will interfere and the program will observe the lowest of the set values.

Sample scenario

1. Using Acronis Management Console you connect to Acronis Backup Server;
   

2. On the Acronis Backup Server Management screen you click Set up Administrator Profiles or Set up User Profiles;
   

3. Select a Profile and click Edit;
   

4. On the Quotas and Time Limits of the Backup Location screen you set any or all of the quota values:
   
   • Maximum backup location size: 20 GB
   • Maximum number of backups in a location: 6
   • Maximum number of incremental backups for each full backup: 7
   • Maximum storage period (days): 10

5. After completing the wizard and hitting Proceed, you return to the Acronis Backup Server Management screen and select Configure Backup Locations;
   

6. There you select a Backup Location and click Quotas and time limits;
   

7. On the Set quotas and time limits for backup location screen you set any or all of the quota values:
   
   • Maximum backup location size: 19 GB
   • Maximum storage period (days): 9

8. You click OK.

The values Acronis Backup Server will observe for this specific Backup Location will be:

• Maximum backup location size: 19 GB
• Maximum number of backups in a location: 6
• Maximum number of incremental backups for each full backup: 7
• Maximum storage period (days): 9
