Uninstallation of Acronis Backup Server includes manual removal of folders, files and registry keys associated with it

This article applies to:

• Acronis True Image 9.1 Workstation
• Acronis True Image 9.1 Enterprise Server
• Acronis True Image Echo Workstation
• Acronis True Image Echo Enterprise Server

Introduction

Uninstalling Acronis Backup Server from the Add/Remove Programs option does not remove the product completely from the system. To get rid of all traces of Acronis Backup Server proceed with the instructions below.

Solution

• Remove Acronis Backup Server using Windows Add or Remove Programs (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel)
• Delete user group AcronisBackupServerUsers (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Local Users and Groups -> Groups)
• Hit Start -> Run -> regedit and remove the following key:
  

  Windows 32 bit:

  • Acronis True Image 9.1

  KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acronis\Fomatik\Plugins\BackupServer

  • Acronis True Image Echo

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acronis\TrueImageEcho\Fomatik\Plugins\BackupServer

Windows 64 bit:

• Acronis True Image 9.1

KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Acronis\Fomatik\Plugins\BackupServer

• Acronis True Image Echo

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Acronis\TrueImageEcho\Fomatik\Plugins\BackupServer

• Delete the \Program Files\Acronis\BackupServer folder
• Delete the \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\BackupServer folder
