This is a known compatibility issue with Acronis True Image Home 2009 and the latest version of Dr.Web Security Space

• Acronis True Image Home 2009
• Dr.Web Security Space
• Windows XP

Symptoms

1. You have both Acronis True Image Home 2009 and Dr.Web Security Space installed on the same machine;
2. You update Dr.Web Security Space to the latest version;
3. After restarting the machine, Windows XP freezes on the splash screen and cannot boot.

Cause

This is a known compatibility issue with Acronis True Image Home 2009 and the latest version of Dr.Web Security Space.

After updating to the latest version of Dr.Web Security Space, there is a compatibility issue with the Acronis True Image Home 2009 drivers.

Solution

Both companies are working closely on the issue resolution. This article will be updated once the fix is available.

The issue is only with Acronis True Image Home 2009, which is an outdated product.

The issue does not exist in newer versions of the product starting from Acronis True Image Home 2010. You can always upgrade to the latest product. See Acronis Software Upgrade Table.
