How to create a multi-boot system that has two or more operating systems installed

Introduction

There are cases when you may need to create a multi-boot system that has several operating systems installed on the same machine.

Due to Windows system limitations you can avoid problems with multibooting only if you install operating systems in such an order, when older operating systems are installed first:

Windows 95 -> Windows NT 4.0 -> Windows 95 OSR2 -> Windows 98 -> Windows ME -> Windows 2000 -> Windows XP -> Windows Vista -> Windows 7

Acronis OS Selector, which is a part of Acronis Disk Director 11 Home, breaks this limitation and eliminates the need to worry about the Windows installation order.

Solution

You can install a new Windows operating system on the same partition, on a new partition or on a different hard disk drive. To do this, you will need to boot to the Acronis OS Selector boot menu and make necessary changes depending on where you want to install a new operating system. After this you can safely install a new operating system.
