How to remove Acronis Secure Zone

This article applies to:

• Acronis True Image Home 2010
• Acronis True Image Home 2011

Solution

There are two ways to remove Acronis Secure Zone: automatic and manual.

• Removing Acronis Secure Zone automatically:

  • Start Acronis True Image, start the Manage Acronis Secure Zone wizard and select Remove Acronis Secure Zone

    In Acronis True Image Home 2010, click Tools & Utilities -> Manage Acronis Secure Zone:

    

    In Acronis True Image Home 2011, click Tools & Utilities -> Acronis Secure Zone:

    

• Removing Acronis Secure Zone manually:

  • Fix/restore the Windows Boot Loader (see Restoring Windows Boot Loader Manually) if Acronis Startup Recovery Manager is activated
  • Delete the Acronis Secure Zone partition (by means of Windows Disk Management, for example)

When removing Acronis Secure Zone, the product will offer to partition to append the freed up space.

There is no possibility to copy the archives from Acronis Secure Zone to a different place.
