How to remove Acronis Backup Archive Explorer

Solution

To remove Acronis True Image Backup Archive Explorer you should do the following:

Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/Windows 7:

• Run Device Manager and delete Acronis Backup Archive Explorer in Acronis Devices:

  (!) Depending on the product that you use, this component may be called Acronis Backup Archive Explorer or Acronis True Image Backup Archive Explorer

  

  

• Run regedit and delete the following registry keys:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\AcronisTimounterMonitor
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\timounter
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\tifsfilter
• Delete timounter string from:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{71A27CDD-812A-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F} -> UpperFilters
