How to remove Acronis Backup Archive Explorer

Solution

To remove Acronis True Image Backup Archive Explorer you should do the following:

• Windows 98/ME

  • Run Device Manager and delete Acronis Backup Archive Explorer:
  • Run regedit and delete the following registry keys:
    
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\AcronisTimounterMonitor
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\AcronisDevices
  • Delete \windows\system\iosubsys\timntr.pdr

• Windows NT 4.0

  • Run regedit and delete the following registry keys:
    
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\AcronisTimounterMonitor
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\timounter
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\tifsfilter

• Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008

  • Run Device Manager and delete Acronis Backup Archive Explorer:
    

     

    

     

    

     

  • Run regedit and delete the following registry keys:
    
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\AcronisTimounterMonitor
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\timounter
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\tifsfilter
  • Delete timounter string from:
    
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{71A27CDD-812A-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F} -> UpperFilters
