There is no need to uninstall the existing version of your copy of an Acronis product before updating it to the latest build
The latest update of an Acronis product can be installed over the existing version of the same product. It can also be installed from scratch on a clean system.
Any update of any Acronis software is a full product, which means it can also be installed from scratch on a clean system.
(!) To check the build number of your copy of Acronis True Image Home please see Viewing Build Number in Acronis True Image Home.
(!) If your product is not listed here then it has finished its life cycle and no update for it is coming up. You can always upgrade to the current version of the product. See Acronis Software Upgrade Table.
Installing the latest version or build of an Acronis product over the existing version reinstalls Acronis drivers in the system. Depending on how major the update is, this operation may or may not require the system reboot. See also Acronis Backup & Recovery Recommendations on How to Avoid Reboot after Installing, Updating, Upgrading, or Uninstalling the Product.
Installation over an existing version will not ask for a serial number.
You can also take a look at Difference between an Upgrade and an Update.
After updating, it is also recommended to recreate Acronis Bootable Media to have better hardware support.
(!) Acronis does not guarantee that images (backup archives) created with a newer build of the product will be supported by older builds. This means that restoring an image created with Acronis True Image Build 8163 may fail with Acronis True Image Build 8076.
(!) If you experience issues with the installation or update of the product, then please contact Acronis Customer Central.
