1526: Starting Acronis Product from USB Flash Drive

You can do this directly from the product

This article applies to:

  • Acronis True Image Home
  • Acronis True Image 9.1
  • Acronis True Image Echo
  • Acronis Backup & Recovery
  • Acronis Snap Deploy
  • Acronis Disk Director


Any of the listed Acronis products can be run on a bare-metal or unbootable computer. To do this, it is necessary to create Acronis Bootable Media. A USB flash drive or disk can be used for this purpose.


You can create Acronis Bootable Media on a flash drive from within the product:

If you encounter issues when creating a bootable USB flash drive or disk by means of Acronis Bootable Media Builder you can try one of the workarounds below:

  1. Using Grub4DOS to Create a Bootable Drive by MudCrab, Acronis Forum MVP (applies to all Windows OSes)
