
Possible issues with Try&Decide if Acronis Startup Recovery Manager is activated

Symptoms
Behavior of Try&Decide if Acronis Startup Recovery Manager is activated depends on the operating system that you use.
Windows XP:
- You activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager;
- You start Try&Decide and select to protect boot partition;
- You reboot and choose to continue working in Try&Decide mode;
- When you reboot a second time while working in Try&Decide mode, changes are discarded; you do not receive any prompt or warning.
Windows Vista/7:
- You activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager;
- You start Try&Decide and select to protect boot partition;
- You reboot and choose to continue working in Try&Decide mode;
- You reboot a second time and select to apply the changes. After the reboot, changes are applied but Acronis Startup Recovery Manager is deactivated.
Cause
Issue in the product.
Solution
As a workaround, deactivate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager before using Try&Decide.
To deactivate Acronis Startup Recover Manager, open Acronis True Image Home 2011, go to Tools&Utilities -> Acronis Startup Recovery Manager and click Deactivate:
