Only the main archive is validated automatically

This article applies to:

• Acronis True Image Home 2011
• Acronis True Image Home 2010
• Acronis True Image Home 2009

Symptoms

1. In Backup options for file or disk backup, you select Create a reserve copy of my backups and Validate backup when it is created:

   

2. When the operation completes, only the first backup is marked as valid. In program log, only validation of original backup is present:

   

Cause

This is by design. Acronis True Image Home only validates the first backup automatically, and does not validate the reserve copy.

Solution

Validate the reserve copy manually: select Operations -> Validate backup:
