14081: Acronis Backup & Recovery 10: MediaBuilder Crashes when Creating WinPE ISO

If Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 was updated from an earlier build, reinstall Acronis Bootable Rescue Media Builder to resolve the issue

  • Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Server for Windows

Symptoms

  1. You install Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Build 12443 or Build 12457 over an earlier build;
  2. You try to create a WinPE-based Acronis Bootable Rescue Media;
  3. When you press Proceed, Acronis Bootable Media Builder crashes:

    MediaBuilder has stopped working

Cause

Issue in the product.

Solution

(!) This has been fixed. The fix is available in the latest released build of the product. See Installation of the Latest Update of an Acronis Product.

To work around the issue without installing the latest build, see below.

Reinstall Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Bootable Rescue Media Builder:

  1. Uninstall Acronis Bootable Rescue Media Builder through Add or Remove programs (or Programs and components in Windows Vista/7/2008);
  2. Install Acronis Bootable Rescue Media Builder using installation file of the latest build:
